Stress management & Self-care for Helping Professionals

This workshop will assist professionals in recognizing the importance of self-care for themselves and those they work with by recognizing burnout, assessing their current self-care, practicing self-care strategies, and developing an individualized self-care plan
Three continuing education credits are available for social workers, counselors, and chemical dependency counselors.
Cost: Pre-Registration $60, At the Door $70, Students $35
Participants will understand the importance of self-care and increase their ability to engage in self-care activities in an effort to improve professional effectiveness.
- Be able to define the concepts of compassion fatigue, vicarious traumatization, and burn-out
- Gain increased understanding of how various risk factors contribute to compassion fatigue and burn-out
- Have increased knowledge of wellness strategies and identify ways to improve overall self-care
