The Benjamin Rose Institute's Adult Day Services Program is a PASSPORT-certified program designed to meet the needs of cognitively and functionally impaired older adults and to provide respite for caregivers. It consists of structured, comprehensive, and continually supervised therapeutic and social activities that emphasize client choice and address the individualized needs of the persons served.
Purpose
To help older adults with cognitive and functional impairments stabilize, increase, and/or sustain their highest level of functioning so that they can maintain the skills needed to live as independently as possible at home and in the community.
Outcome
To help individuals maintain the capacity to live at home and in the community for as long as possible.
Activities
Therapeutic and social activities include:
Assessments
Group activities such as arts and crafts, baking, current events, PACE exercises, horticulture, Montessori-based programming for people with memory loss, men's and women's groups, music, parties, TimeSlips storytelling, and other therapeutic interventions.
