Provides adult day services for older persons with cognitive and functional impairments, as well as therapeutic group sessions for older persons with mental illness.

Adult Day Services consist of structured, comprehensive, and continually supervised activities in a protective setting. They include:
  • Therapeutic group activities using Montessori methods and creative techniques.
    • Activities include: arts and crafts, baking, current events, fine and gross motor activities, games, horticulture indoors and out, musical activities, online programs utilizing the internet, phototherapy, storytelling, celebration of birthdays and other special events, as well as seasonal activities such as University Circle's annual Parade the Circle
  • Supervision of activities of daily living and supervision of medication administration
  • Health assessments and intermittent health monitoring by a Registered Nurse
  • Vision screening
  • Bathing and skilled nursing services upon request
  • Personal care services
  • Rehabilitative and restorative services, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy
  • Social services
  • Nutritious meals
  • Transportation
  • Respite and supportive services to caregivers and families
  • A variety of payment options and funding sources are available

Partial Hospitalization Services consist of a series of therapeutic group sessions that respond to the mental health needs of older persons and help them to live in their homes and communities as independently as possible.

Group sessions include:

  • Skill development in interpersonal and social competency, problem-solving, conflict resolution, emotional/behavioral management and positive coping mechanisms
  • Management of mental health and behavioral symptoms to enhance independent living
  • Psychoeducational interventions, including individualized instruction and training to help older persons a) increase knowledge and understaning of their psychiatric diagnoses, treatment and rehabilitation; b) enhance their acceptance of their mental health conditions; and c) increase their cooperation and collaboration with treatment and rehabilitation
  • Improve their coping skills
  • favorably affect their mental health and behaviors

Other services include:

  • Assessment and diagnostic services
  • Care planning
  • Medication monitoring, when necessary
  • Occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy
