Hoarding Through the Clutter

The Hoarding Connection of Cuyahoga County is pleased to present their annual hoarding conference on Friday, November 8 from 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio (6393 Oak Tree Blvd, Independence, OH 44131).
Keynote Speaker, Dr. Randy O. Frost will discuss hoarding disorder and dive into its causes, emotional roots and effective interventions. Learn how to spot the signs—like excessive collecting, difficulty letting go and overwhelming clutter—and discover tools for assessing the severity of the problem. We’ll explore the latest findings on emotional attachments and beliefs around possessions through compelling video examples. Plus, get hands-on with strategies to help clients stay motivated, organize, and reshape their relationship with their belongings. Dr. Forst will also discuss how how to apply proven methods like the Buried in Treasures Workshop and cognitive behavior therapy. Following Dr. Frost’s presentation we’ll hear from a panel of local experts on how they address hoarding situations in Northeast Ohio.
