She has a strong interest in new music and music of African American composers and has given world premieres by composers Dolores White\, H. A passionate advocate for the music of today\, his most accomplishments include performing the world premiere of MacArthur Genius Tyshawn Sorey’s Cycles of My Being\, the New York Premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s cello concerto Notes on Light\, and the world premiere of Carman Moore’s MADIBA for cello and orchestra.

Hunter has been playing music full time\, as a solo artist and with various bands since the late 1980s and in 1997 started teaching jazz piano at Cuyahoga Community College\, a faculty position he holds today.

She has been playing and singing with many Ohio musicians since. While Saam’s vocal style is often compared to Janis Joplin\, her treatment and comfort with standards from Cole Porter to Billie Holiday is sublime. Her flute and saxophone endeavors always delight! Saam is also a member of the Euclid Symphony Orchestra where she plays clarinet.
