Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging Hosts Annual Caregiving Conference on Coordinated Dementia Care Systems

CLEVELAND/COLUMBUS, Ohio- Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, a leader in advancing support and resources for older adults, will host their annual Caregiving Conference on December 8, 2023. This year's conference will revolve around the theme of "Establishing a Coordinated Dementia Care System for Ohio," exploring the development of a comprehensive and inclusive system for screening, training, education, resources, and services to address improving dementia care throughout the state of Ohio.

This event, offered with support from the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program and the Ohio State University, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it will be held in two in-person locations simultaneously, one in Cleveland and the other in Columbus.

We are privileged to welcome Tim Leonard, the Medicaid Health Systems Administrator at the Ohio Department of Aging, as this year's keynote speaker. Leonard will introduce The Ohio State University and Ohio Department of Aging’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Statewide Resource Program. The conference will also feature a virtual tour of the recently constructed Golden Buckeye Center for Dementia Caregiving at The Ohio State University. A diverse panel of experts from across the state will discuss the six goals of the program, shedding light on Ohio's path forward. The conference will conclude with an inter-professional simulation training facilitated by the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program.
